The Honorable Walter C. Jones, Esq. has a track-record of success and is a proven and effective leader. He is a seasoned international businessman, attorney and former United States diplomat with nearly 40-years of professional experience. Walter has lived in five countries, speaks several languages and has managed diverse teams of professionals across varied cultures.
Walter is currently a Director, Investments, at the U.S. Development Finance Corporation (DFC), handling Europe, Eurasia, Latin America and the Caribbean. His primary focus is on structuring transactions to provide loan portfolio guarantees and direct loans to support impactful development projects and emerging market growth. Prior to joining DFC, Walter was the co-founder of a Dubai, UAE- based investment company focusing on renewable energy projects in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. During the Obama Administration, Walter served as the United States Executive Director at the African Development Bank, an ambassadorial-level, U.S. Senate confirmed position. Earlier in his career, Walter spent nearly 14-years at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) in Washington, DC, and was a Legislative Assistant in the United States Senate. In the beginning of his career, Walter practiced corporate law at Sidley & Austin.
Walter Jones is a graduate of Princeton University, the Princeton University School of Public and International Affairs (formerly Woodrow Wilson School), Harvard Law School, and the George Washington University School of Business and Management. He is admitted to the Bars of Washington, DC, Pennsylvania and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and is a Certified Corporate Director.
